What is the Salary as a Welder?
Welder's salary, varies depending on several factors: whether he is a Junior Welder, whether he is an experienced welder, how many years of experience he has behind him, whether he has a welder's license.
Salary also varies according to what and how many types of welding you are able to weld, by the metal sector where you work, whether you are a shop wel der or journeyman welder, whether you are employed or on VAT, also depends on the province, region, country where you work, etc.
So there are so many variables that govern a welder's net salary, in fact the range between minimum and maximum salary can vary from €1400 to €5000 net per month.
Let's assume that the welder is a very rare professional to find in the job market and will be increasingly so in the future, so salaries will go up a lot,
Why?
Welders are retiring and there is no generational turnover, young people are investing in degrees, so if companies want welders, to get them, they have to pay them well.
Young people do not know that most of the time the job of a welder is much higher paid than most graduates doing office work!
Yes that's right, today a young graduate is forced to work for the first periods for free, then he is taken on internship at 500-700€/month, after 1 year 1000€, after several years 1500€ and then after a lot of experience he reaches 2000-2200€ net at most.
While a Junior welder, fresh out of a good Welding School immediately aspires to a minimum salary of 1400-1600€ + overtime.
On average within the first year they usually reach 1800-2000€ net, and then go on to grow, depending on skill and experience, to salaries of double or triple, depending on the characteristics written above.
In the future, the use of iron plants, constructions and products will always go up, and therefore welding and the welding trade will be increasingly necessary and unavailable to companies.
Because you know, when something is rare, its market value also increases sharply!
Concerning our nation,Italy is the second largest country in Europe in the engineering sector, after Germany, in fact there are thousands of companies every day hunting for welders to join the workforce, but they are not finding them, and this is evident from the thousands of job ads for welders that can be found online, in job centers and at job agencies.
Today, finding a job as a welder, if you are a licensed welder, is really easy!
What affects a welder's salary?
1) If you work in northern Italy you will definitely be paid better, because there are many companies and few welders available.
2) On average, a welder, with a couple of years of experience, who knows how to weld one type of weld earns between 1800€ and 2200€. If you know how to weld in two types you get up to 2500€, if you know how to weld in 3 types you can get up to 3000-3500€.
3) If you are willing to travel for work, they might offer you as much as $5,000 net/month.
4) If you weld Carpentry you will earn a lower salary than a welder who welds Plant, consequently the more valuable the parts you weld, the more you will get paid, the more valuable the material you can weld (Aluminum, Stainless, P11, P22, Titanium, etc.) the more you will get paid.
Of course, all the conclusions written above depend from case to case, welder to welder, company to company, we can define them, however, as a real and concrete national average for the industry.
Our trainees normally find work as junior welders as soon as they finish training, with an average salary between €1400 to €2000 net/month.
After a year, they start earning a higher salary, up to professional welder salaries. Many of our trainees, in addition to their field experience, often return to our School during vacation periods and continue their training, adding skills to their Curriculum with other types of welding or learning to weld valuable materials.
